Every cat you meet in town now looks like themselves: Mothwick has his one good eye, Lady Marmalade her silver bell, Rook his notched ear, and Old Ginger is as enormous as everyone says. Kittens are small, and old toms stoop.
Many of them keep their things beside them: Brindle's workbench, Auntie Tansy's great cook pot, Marmalade's cushion, Captain Kipper's lobster pot and rod, Old Hob's lamplighter's pole.
Whiskerholm has become a proper village, with a well where Mothwick pretends to sleep, a worn old bench, a mended noticeboard and pots of flowers by the store. Every town's cottages now have their own roofs, chimneys and windows, and town ledges stand on timber posts.
When townsfolk speak, their faces now appear beside their words, and in the Village tab.
