Clawguard guide
Big-cat warriors who fight up close with a sword and shield. A Clawguard walks into the middle of a pack and stays there: it is built sturdy, roars that hit everything around it, and a Charge that closes any gap. It is the simplest path to play well, and the only one that can tank a dungeon.

The two branches at level 30
Lionheart
The tank. Roars that mark every foe nearby, a shield bash, and the most staying power in the game. Takes the tank role in dungeons.
Then Pridelord at 60, then Sphinx at 100. Weapon: sword and shield. Dungeon roles: Tank, Damage.
Tigerfang
The berserker. Drops the shield for claws, opens wounds that bleed, and frenzies for speed. Hits harder, takes more.
Then Sabretooth at 60, then Ravager at 100. Weapon: claws. Dungeon roles: Tank, Damage.
Skills to put on the bar
Your cat casts the first skill on its bar that is ready, so the order is its priority. When it takes a class, the game sets its bar in this order, which is a good place to start. Swap in new skills as each advancement brings them.
| Class | Starting bar, first to last |
|---|---|
| Clawguard | Roar of the Pride → Lion's Maul → Ground Pounce → Rending Swipe → Pounce → Second Wind |
| Lionheart | Pride's Bulwark → King's Judgement → Mighty Roar → Mane Bash → Ground Pounce → Mane's Rally |
| Tigerfang | Blood Frenzy → Pounce Frenzy → Savage Leap → Rend → Ground Pounce → Feral Recovery |
| Pridelord | King of Beasts → Royal Decree → Earthshaker Roar → Lion's Den → Mighty Roar → Mane's Rally |
| Sabretooth | Primal Fury → Eviscerate → Stampede → Sabre Rend → Pounce Frenzy → Feral Recovery |
| Sphinx | Guardian of the Gate → Crown of the Sun → Riddle of the Sphinx → Sandstorm Sweep → Earthshaker Roar → Mane's Rally |
| Ravager | Bloodlust → End the Hunt → Apex Charge → Ravaging Maw → Eviscerate → Feral Recovery |
Talents
From level 10 the Clawguard line gets a talent point every two levels, 96 by level 200, for three trees. A tree opens a row for every five points spent in it, and its last row is a capstone that teaches a new skill, about level 90. A level 200 cat fills one tree and about half of another.
| Tree | Leans into | What it does | Capstone |
|---|---|---|---|
| 🐾 Claw | Both branches | The craft of the claw. Heavier swipes, deeper wounds and the killing blow. | Mortal Swipe A savage, tearing strike at one foe. +10% crit chance. |
| 🦁 Pride | Lionheart | The wall of the pride. Thick manes, booming roars and the weight of a king. | The King's Roar Everything around you hears the king. Foes hit take 20% more damage for 8s and deal 20% less for 6s. |
| 🐯 Fang | Tigerfang | Striped fury. Bleeds, frenzies and blood in the water. | Throat Rip Go for the throat. Heavy damage, then a deep bleed for 6s. |
A safe build: fill your branch's own tree from top to bottom, then put the rest into the shared tree. That is what the game's balance is measured against, so it always keeps pace. Resets cost gold in any town and get cheaper again week by week, so trying another tree is never a big loss.
Tips
- Put your area roars first on the bar: packs bunch up around a Clawguard, and area skills hit every one.
- Shield and helm defence count for more than usual; a Lionheart can wear a little less attack for a lot more guard.
- Charge closes the gap on ranged monsters on ledges above you.
Every skill's damage, cooldown and cost is in the class comparison, and the other paths are in picking a class.
