Purrbard guide
Purr-magic bards who fight up close with a lute. A Purrbard sings: hymns that lift its own attack, lullabies and yowls that slow and weaken whatever it faces, and a purr that heals. It is the most supportive path, and it can heal in dungeons.

The two branches at level 30
Choirmane
Anthems, harmonic shields and heals. Takes the healer role in dungeons and keeps a whole party standing.
Then Maestro at 60, then Virtuoso at 100. Weapon: lute. Dungeon roles: Healer, Damage.
Hissmonger
Trades the lute for a horn: screeches that weaken, slow and burn. A damage path that makes everything hit it softer.
Then Caterwraith at 60, then Banshee at 100. Weapon: horn. Dungeon roles: Damage.
Skills to put on the bar
Your cat casts the first skill on its bar that is ready, so the order is its priority. When it takes a class, the game sets its bar in this order, which is a good place to start. Swap in new skills as each advancement brings them.
| Class | Starting bar, first to last |
|---|---|
| Purrbard | Battle Hymn → Lullaby → Rumble Purr → Discordant Yowl → Pounce → Soothing Hum |
| Choirmane | Anthem of Nine Lives → Harmonic Shield → Crescendo → Chorus Line → Rumble Purr → Encore |
| Hissmonger | Bristle → Sour Note → Sonic Boom → Screech Wave → Caterwaul → Soothing Hum |
| Maestro | Symphony of Nine Lives → Grand Finale → Fortissimo → Crescendo → Harmonic Shield → Standing Ovation |
| Caterwraith | Unholy Chorus → Haunting Refrain → Shriek of the Ninth → Deathknell → Sonic Boom → Soothing Hum |
| Virtuoso | Rhapsody → Magnum Opus → Bravura → Grand Finale → Fortissimo → Curtain Call |
| Banshee | The Keening Host → Banshee's Scream → Mourning Song → The Last Lament → Haunting Refrain → Soothing Hum |
Talents
From level 10 the Purrbard line gets a talent point every two levels, 96 by level 200, for three trees. A tree opens a row for every five points spent in it, and its last row is a capstone that teaches a new skill, about level 90. A level 200 cat fills one tree and about half of another.
| Tree | Leans into | What it does | Capstone |
|---|---|---|---|
| 🎵 Rhythm | Both branches | The craft of the song. Perfect pitch, quick tempo and breath that never runs out. | Power Chord One chord, loud enough to knock over a whole line of foes. |
| 🎶 Chorus | Choirmane | The choir. Anthems that lift, harmonies that shield and songs that mend. | Chorus of the Nine +25% magic, +12% attack speed and +6 HP regen, plus a shield worth 20% of max HP + 1.5x magic. |
| 🙀 Discord | Hissmonger | The hiss. Screeches that weaken, sour notes that burn and sound that breaks bones. | The Last Hiss A hiss so vile it sours a whole crowd. Foes deal 35% less damage for 6s and fester for 6s. |
A safe build: fill your branch's own tree from top to bottom, then put the rest into the shared tree. That is what the game's balance is measured against, so it always keeps pace. Resets cost gold in any town and get cheaper again week by week, so trying another tree is never a big loss.
Tips
- Buffs on the bar recast themselves when they run out, so put the hymn first and forget it.
- Weaken and slow make zones far safer: a Purrbard rarely needs the Sardine Tonic.
- A Choirmane can take the healer role in the Dungeon Finder, and a party needs one in every group.
Every skill's damage, cooldown and cost is in the class comparison, and the other paths are in picking a class.
