Yarnslinger guide
Hunters who fight with a bow from a distance. A Yarnslinger shoots up at ledges, tangles and slows packs before they arrive, and is hit far less often than the close-up paths. Featherstep is a high double jump for getting around tall zones. It suits anyone who likes to watch a fight from a safe spot.

Skills to put on the bar
Your cat casts the first skill on its bar that is ready, so the order is its priority. When it takes a class, the game sets its bar in this order, which is a good place to start. Swap in new skills as each advancement brings them.
| Class | Starting bar, first to last |
|---|---|
| Yarnslinger | Eagle Eye → Pinning Shot → Yarn Volley → Tangle Shot → Pounce → Quick Groom |
| Skystalker | Apex Focus → Birdbane → Skypiercer → Hawkeye Volley → Yarn Volley → Feather Mend |
| Knotweaver | Loom Guard → The Grand Tangle → Cat's Cradle → Giant Ball of Yarn → Web of Yarn → Quick Groom |
| Starstalker | Zenith Focus → Meteor Arrow → Constellation → Piercing Dawn → Birdbane → Feather Mend |
| Fatespinner | Spindle Guard → Threads of Fate → Cut the Thread → The Tapestry → The Grand Tangle → Quick Groom |
| Comet Hunter | Perihelion → Comet Fall → Starburst Volley → Light-Year Shot → Meteor Arrow → Feather Mend |
| Norn | Norn's Ward → Web of Wyrd → The Last Thread → Loom of Ages → Threads of Fate → Quick Groom |
Talents
From level 10 the Yarnslinger line gets a talent point every two levels, 96 by level 200, for three trees. A tree opens a row for every five points spent in it, and its last row is a capstone that teaches a new skill, about level 90. A level 200 cat fills one tree and about half of another.
| Tree | Leans into | What it does | Capstone |
|---|---|---|---|
| 🎯 Aim | Both branches | The patient shot. Steady paws, keen eyes and never a wasted throw. | Perfect Shot One long breath, one perfect shot. +30% crit chance. |
| 🦅 Sky | Skystalker | The bird-hunter. One target, one shot, and feathers everywhere. | Skyfall A storm of shots on one spot. +15% crit chance, and 40% more against birds. |
| 🧶 Knot | Knotweaver | The weaver. Webs that hold whole packs, and a ball of yarn for every occasion. | The Great Cocoon Wrap everything around you in yarn. Slows by 80% for 5s, and foes deal 25% less damage for 6s. |
A safe build: fill your branch's own tree from top to bottom, then put the rest into the shared tree. That is what the game's balance is measured against, so it always keeps pace. Resets cost gold in any town and get cheaper again week by week, so trying another tree is never a big loss.
Tips
- Ranged classes take little damage when their slows land first: keep a slow near the front of the bar.
- Skystalkers shine in bird zones; check the wiki to see which zones are full of gulls, pigeons and owls.
- Featherstep reaches ledges other paths have to climb ropes to.
Every skill's damage, cooldown and cost is in the class comparison, and the other paths are in picking a class.
